How shared boat tours work

Shared boat tours are the easy way to get out on the water in Punta Cana when you are traveling as a couple, with friends or as a family. You join other travelers on a boat with fixed departure times and pay per person, with a reduced price for children. The captain and crew take care of the route, the stops and the timing, so all you have to do is show up.

The classic is a full day at Saona Island, inside Cotubanamá National Park: the crossing from Bayahibe, time on its long white beaches and a stop at the natural pool, where the water is shallow enough to stand in. Closer to the resorts, a sunset cruise along the Bávaro coast ends the day on deck as the light turns gold. When a tour includes hotel pickup, the list says so.

Every tour is priced per person, with the adult price right in the list and the child price shown when there is one. Choose your date and how many adults and children are coming, send the request and we reply with a firm quote within about two hours. Sending a request is free. If you would rather have a boat just for your group, take a look at our private boat charters.

Shared tour questions

What is a shared boat tour?

A trip on a boat that runs on a set schedule, where you share the deck with other travelers and pay per person instead of for the whole boat. It is the simplest way to see Saona Island or enjoy a sunset cruise as a couple or a small group.

Can children come on a shared tour?

Yes. Children pay a reduced price, shown next to the adult price in the list when there is one, and infants under 3 go free. Each tour page shows the age limit for the child price.

Do shared tours include hotel pickup?

Only the ones with a Hotel pickup tag in the list. For any other tour, add your hotel to the request and we will let you know in the quote if pickup is possible.

What should we bring?

Swimwear, a towel, reef-safe sunscreen, sunglasses and a hat, and a bag that can get wet. A light layer helps on the ride home after sunset, and some cash comes in handy for extras.
